Let me just say this: Travelling is not nearly as glamorous as the movies make it out to be.

Now, I’m not ready to come home and give up on this grand adventure. Not at all. I’m just way more aware of how tiring it is! We got to New Jersey 2 days ago. It feels like it’s been non stop since we got here.

Yesterday, we were attacked. Between headaches and hunger and dehydration and eyes not liking contacts, we were down for the count nearly all day. But that didn’t stop us from trying. We got up, we got dressed. And can I just say we all looked SO cute. From the pictures, you can’t even tell we weren’t feeling well. We went for a powerade run, and finally made it out to do some light shopping. We talked all day and enjoyed the company of the beautiful Sara Young.

But the best part of yesterday was in the evening. Sara had some extra canvases and paint that she was letting us use to paint our own little picture. We haven’t finished, but I am so beyond excited to finish mine. I’ve never painted before. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do and never pushed myself over the ledge to just try.

I also kinda suck at it. But hey, I did something new. And I’m really happy about it.

The other cool thing about yesterday is that I didn’t text anyone. Sarah and I made a rule that we would only text people for 1 hour a day. This is to help us focus on the moment and each other and really put ourselves where we are rather than being at home in our minds. I was really impressed with how the day just flowed well and I didn’t feel like I had to be in everyone’s business back home. It was.. nice. I miss everyone, but being unplugged has been relaxing.

Also, Sara Y. has taken on the role of “mother”. She reminds me of my grandma (not in a bad way) in how she plans and takes care of us. From feeding us to making sure we get up on time and trying to make this stop absolutely wonderful to doing our nails, she has been fantastic. On top of it, she’s pregnant, so this chick is just killing it hospitality wise. I can’t even begin to express how much we appreciate her and everything she’s done for us. Thank you Sara. You are a beautiful soul and I’m happy to provide the chance for you to practice being a mom.

So how's that bucket list going? As of today, 33 and 19 have been started. Hopefully continued soon.

I’m definitely grateful for the chance to follow one of my dreams. I’ve worked on trying to open mind to the world around me. Thank you for the support, guys.

We’re in NYC today. But I’ll save that post for another day. Happy Fourth everyone!

“To practice any art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow. So do it.”
